The new low-cost Citizen C-16 can combines modern technology and highest precision for the efficient production of turned parts up to 16mm in diameter.

8 axes, 6 turning tools, 3 rotary tools and in total 8 drilling tools for front and back machining allows great flexibility.

Maximum cutting length is 200 mm in one chucking. However, with the optional long work piece unit, components up to 400 mm can be machined. The main spindle is driven by a 2.2 kW motor and the sub-spindle has a 0.75 kW drive. The rotary tool drive also has a 0.75 kW, AC spindle motor giving 8,000 revs/min.

Comprehensive standard equipment, space-saving design, easy operation, low running costs and high productivity - all at an extremely attractive price makes the C16-VIE a must-have for newcomers to sliding head lathes, for replacement of cam-controlled lathes or for the production of simple turned parts.

Windows display screen features slot for PC card. The fully positionable control console enables the operator to observe the machining area and the program on the monitor at the same time. The handwheel feature provides the operator with a safe and convenient means of proving out programs prior to selecting the automatic mode. This is particularly useful to newcomers to CNC operation.

The storage and input of program data us simplified by the PC memory card slot (PCMCIA aka. PC Card).

Citizen's renowned ease of use, including the program prove-out handwheel, helps operators achieve fast changeovers.

Also uses Citizen's new High-Speed processor for even greater efficiency.
