NEW CITIZEN A 20 LAUNCH AT NC OPEN HOUSE 26-28 SEPTEMBER 2006 September 2006 marks the global launch of the new generation A-Series CNC sliding auto from Citizen with NC Engineering of Watford selected for the first European machine demonstration, at its Open House at Bushey, Watford, between 26 and 28 September 2006. The new Citizen A20 sliding headstock machine combines two distinct advantages to users – a high rigidity cast bed giving improved levels of thermal and damping characteristics and a claimed unrivalled price for a 20 mm capacity, high production machine. The A20 also features Citizen’s idle time eliminating Streamline control, Sandvik Coromant’s QS 20 sec quick-change tooling as standard and it has the ability to perform heavier machining operations. Additional machining flexibility is achieved with a 165 mm single chucking stroke plus a host of new high productive features. Also at the event and under power will be five CNC sliding head turn/mill centres from the Citizen K, C, L and M-Series and a fixed-head Citizen Boley BE42Y featuring Y-axis crossfeed. The second generation CoolBlaster 140 bar coolant system will be demonstrated for the first time, an automatic unload parts carousel and an NC Engineering software development for Citizen, the CNC Wizard programming aid. Supporting companies at the event with products that will be of particular
interest to the small turned parts industry include: Sandvik Coromant
with its QS quick change tooling system, MecWash component cleaning,
Vision Inspection, Floyd Automatic Tooling, Iemca bar feeds and LNS Turbo
swarf management. |
